Thuro Skate Shop is a brick-and-mortar shop that sells skate, snow, and surf action sports products. Thuro has a website that allows users from around the world to browse through and purchase from their stock of merchandise. The current website is functional however outdated and lacks some modern convenient features that improve the shopping experience.
problem
The existing website was outdated, particularly on mobile devices, usability was poor and there was difficulty navigating categories. The goal of the project was to modernize the website’s user interface and create a seamless shopping experience across all devices.
process
My process was intended to show off my skills as a full-stack developer and I did not use any css/html frameworks like bootstrap or tailwind. I used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to achieve all of the solutions necessary to create, host and develop my website.
results
The Thuroshop redesign resulted in a website that did not overwhelm the shopper with unnecessary information right away. The shopping experience was stress free and has a hover feature to view more product information without leaving the page. This more enjoyable shopping experience has the potential to earn Thuro a greater conversion rate.
